INIT and Seibert Solutions
Around 1,500 employees, a small internal IT team and global users across all time zones: INIT faced the challenge of ensuring stable operation of Atlassian Data Center systems, implementing regular security updates and minimizing downtime. Migrating to the Atlassian Cloud was therefore the next logical step.

“We have regained valuable resources.”

What improved through the cloud migration
The migration to the Atlassian Cloud has noticeably relieved INIT: maintenance overhead has dropped significantly, security risks have been reduced and the IT team can now focus more on strategic topics.
Stable operations
No more manual monthly security updates in Data Center. Updates run automatically, security risks decrease and unplanned downtime is significantly reduced.
Focus on further development
Instead of investing time in maintenance, the IT team now actively drives optimizations in Jira and Confluence and develops the system landscape in a targeted way.
More value for users
The freed-up capacity flows into qualified support, consulting and enablement – so users can fully exploit the potential of the tools.
Starting position before the cloud migration
The decision for an Atlassian partner
for the cloud migration
For the migration from Atlassian Data Center to the cloud, INIT relied on the support of Seibert Solutions. The internal IT team generally likes to work independently and brings deep technical know-how. However, experience from the self-managed Confluence migration showed that time-intensive troubleshooting of individual problems tied up valuable capacity. For the Jira migration, INIT therefore deliberately chose a partner who offers not just licenses but also sound consulting.

Our small IT team was massively overloaded by the monthly security updates in Data Center. Moving to the cloud was the only solution to regain valuable resources and focus again on our actual task: making our users more effective.

Collaboration with Seibert Solutions
- How the collaboration came about
INIT operated without a partner for a long time and handled many topics themselves. After the Confluence migration, however, it became clear that time-intensive troubleshooting was placing a heavy burden on internal capacity. For the Jira migration, INIT therefore chose support from Seibert Solutions – with the goal of noticeably relieving the internal team and refocusing on support, user consulting and optimizations.
- Consulting and support – not just license procurement
- Support with the Jira migration to reduce internal troubleshooting overhead
- Confluence migration initially carried out internally; Jira migration with support from Seibert Solutions
- INIT handled the communications work and could focus on optimizations and user consulting
